Dr. Joseph P. Robinson received his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2014) and Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (2020) from Northeastern University (NEU), where he was honored with the Outstanding Teacher Award for his instruction in Data Analytics. His doctoral research focused on applied machine vision, including automatic face understanding, deep learning, multimodal fusion, fairness in AI, and large-scale data analysis. Dr. Robinson has authored over 35 peer-reviewed publications and has played an active role in organizing conferences, workshops, and challenges, including FG 2020, NECV 2017, RFIW@ACM-MM/FG (2017–2020), AMFG@CVPR (2018–2019), and FacesMM. He has led tutorials at ACM MM, CVPR, and FG, and has served as a PC member for top venues such as CVPR, FG, ICCV, MIRP, MMEDIA, and AAAI, as well as a reviewer for journals including IEEE TPAMI, TIP, and TBioCAS. He served as President of IEEE@NEU and as Relations Officer for IEEE SAC Region 1. Professionally, he has completed two NSF REUs, co-ops at Analogic Corporation and Raytheon BBN, and internships at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, STR, Snap Inc., and ISMConnect. Dr. Robinson has worked as a Machine Learning Systems Performance Engineer at NEU's High-Performance Computing Center, as a part-time ML lecturer at Tufts University, and as Head of RAPID at BitHuman. He currently develops vision-based solutions at Amazon Robotics.
